The Mohawk Viper 12 has excellent primary stability, and good secondary stability. However, the Mohawk Viper 12's edge (a sharper, less curve to the chine) can catch cross currents and eddies, and flip the paddler who has not mastered the edge. The Mohawk Viper 12 is a favorite of many paddlers that compete in the Royalex slalom race class. Its popularity, and many wins is a testimonial to the Mohawk Viper 12's  precise handling.
