You can have Mohawk outfit your play boat and save both time and money. You can also be sure it’s all done right. Unlike other canoe manufacturers most of our play boats are shipped outfitted and ready to paddle. This is not only a testimonial to our outfitting systems’ durability, comfort and dependability, but also to the dedication of our outfitting staff. We stock a few boats fully outfitted and ready to go, but we are glad to customize to your specific need, paddling style or size.

Double Thigh Retainer System
For the Double Thigh Retainer we increased the width of the foam retainer from four to six inches and added a one inch web strap which is adjusted with a simple, lightweight tourniquet buckle. The extended width of the retainer and the additional one inch strap work together to add more pressure forward for knee hold-down and more pressure aft for lap hold-down.
Another plus is that the larger double "D" ring side anchor spreads the load on a bigger area for less chance of a blowout. Even with the extra hold capability, it is still one of the easiest systems to wet-exit out of: releasing either one of the straps is not necessary - simply release your feet from the foot pedals and fall back and out. Both buckles are easy to release and well within reach sitting right in your lap if you feel the need. The whole system - including saddle, knee pads, thigh-retainer and buckles, footbraces, attaching hardware and the saddle-to-thwart connecting dowel - weighs only 5.1 lbs.
Three position saddle with single thigh retainer

No more loose thigh straps lying on the floor. All three positions are ready to go. Our triple saddle is specifically designed for symmetrical hulls since the solo paddler paddles the canoe in reverse. Just one minute from tandem to solo. The stern and solo positions share the same thigh wedges and knee pads making a very clean and uncomplicated system. The 8" wide saddle has flow ports to allow lateral water movement for stability. With a triple saddle installed you can take the same boat out on your own or with a paddling partner without sacrificing performance.
If you are looking for a strap system that holds you in place then this is it. A four strap system that is independently anchored it offers the adjustability and secure connection with the boat that you need to push the limits of any craft. Combined with the Extreme pedestal this is the ultimate in double-strap outfitting. The knee straps keep your knees in place while the upper straps keep you in the boat allowing for easy rolling and great control. This outfitting is only available in kit form due to the need for exact placement of all parts. So if you don’t mind outfitting your on boat Go Extreme
